And Dublin would be something like Brussels......

Now with Brexit that is a real worry going forward. Time for Irexit.

Given it 15-20 years and at least two full terms of SF led government, Dublin will be like Brussels.

I agree with an Irexit, shame the Shinners have sold out on the EU.

Once SF started championing the EU I knew the EU was in terminal decline.

There was some gob************************e the other night who started a thread that we should join Schengen because his brother was inconvenienced at some foreign airport, make no mistake if we joined Schengen now/after brexit the no.s turning up at the asylum application centre would rocket, so much so they would have to run extra ferries from France.

Proper functioning countries learn from the mistakes of others, they don't go on to make the same ones 10 years later.....

Irish in America are all working and contributing to the American economy - they are also highly educated and skilled - they also share many of the values and customs of their host nation.

We on the other hand are being asked to open our doors to the masses from Africa / middle east and Asia. Most from 'Islamic countries' and most poorly educated. These would be a massive burden on the state and also pose a security threat. You'd want to be bonkers to subject your country to this -

Brussels is full of doggy dirt, you literally have to watch your step but it is definitely culturally enriched, without doubt that is true.

This seems to be the latest cause celebre for the left - Morning Ireland had an item on it last week I think. Sure why bother with rules at all if we can just cast them aside every so often and have an amnesty? It worked so well with taxes - remember? (by the way, I agree with O Broin that the same logic should apply to the illegal Irish in the US).

However, Eoin the Righteous must be relieved to have another PC bandwagon to jump on, given the lack of traction acquired by the Halawa Express. SF would need to be careful with this one - popular feeling would not be on their side, and it would reinforce their image as a far-left party more concerned with fringe issues than the everyday concerns of Middle Ireland voters.
