What an odd thread, whereby the only reason for its existance appears to be linking the words "robbing" and "FF".
We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don't know we don't know.

The idea that SF have a monopoly on support for R&D in Irish industry is itself an invention. The thread as a much merit as you have credibility.

Are Sinn Fein now claiming a monopoly on the idea of government support for indeginous industry?

I believe the IDA have been a state body in Ireland supporting industry both home grown and otherwise for an age now alongside Enterprise Ireland.

Neither of which were started by Sinn Fein as far as I'm aware

Welcome Fynnster, but SF are not claiming it Digout is.
This is one of the baffling idiocies of this site (cured by putting him on your ignore list).

Yes, but SF originally robbed the policies from the Northern Bank, so they can hardly complain.

I agree with you digoutday. In a number of major areas Sinn Féin has set the pace.

The list is a good bit longer but I’ll kick it off with this. Firstly and most obviously the national question.

In recent years all major parties in various degrees have decided to try and follow SF down the republican route. Notable examples of this are

1.FF rediscovery of the 1916 celebrations a few years ago
2.FF realising that Ireland did not end at the border and maybe Irish people north of the border need representation too
3.Young FG threatening to rebrand themselves as the United Ireland Party

    In the Economic Sphere,
1.Realisation that a good way defend against global uncertainty is to strengthen indigenous industry
2.That opposition to privatisation of services like Aer Lingus is not Marxist but sound strategic thinking
3.That tax cuts for all after the general election was not the best way to proceed
4.That gifting our oil and gas resources to foreign multinationals is not so bright
5.That All Ireland Economic and infrastructural integration is not the theme of a Wolfe Tones song but a sound wealth creating development for the country as a whole.

If you look more deeply into said minister's previous announcements, you will see this is nothing new. If fact, deeper research (some posted as threads on this site) will reveal that such announcements when implemented have been ham fisted at best. However, if the slowdown for established businesses is taking place you may read this simply as a transfer of tax revenue to these businesses under the guise of development aide. FF are well used to the dig out ploy. They have the master of the technique at the helm.

SF setting the pace in the economic sphere?
    Are you having a laugh?

What happened to your taxation policies the week before the election?
What happened to increasing Corporation tax?

    You scrapped it all.
