They are rarely out by more than 5% if the sample is over 1000 and some care is taken to get a good cross-section of people.When you throw in the fact that many Catholics are in the civil service or indirectly reliant on the British state you can see that it might be a tricky one for them even though they may well be voting SF in the GEs.It's academic in my view anyway as I suspect that there are quite a few Catholics who are as hostile to SF as we are in the south and there is a loss among the unicorns of 6% for the green side so that in effect the Catholics will have to have a substantial majority to ever hope for a UI by that route-it's all just nonsense.

Yeah I found that odd too. In the U.S. they are known as Scotch Irish and surely Ulster Irish would refer to those in the North with an affinity to Ireland not Britain.

As for unionists, I care not for them. The Nationalist population in the 6 counties is increasing, while the unionist lot are declining. Once 50%+1 supports unity there won't be anything unionists, or their infantile supporters in D4 and Sindo Towers can do about it.
