Perhaps the time machine could put you on Bridge street in Warrington in 1993 where you could watch criminals murder and dismember children with no-warning bombs.
The NICRA demands on voting were conceded in 1969 - FYI - the Warrington bombs were in 1993, 24 years later.
What is the difference between loyalist mobs attacking Catholic homes and republicans putting no-warning bombs outside Boots and McDonalds on a peaceful civilian street? Which is more evil or are they both equally evil?

The usual chest beating from one of our blueshirt friends, the same people who closed down after a few weeks the investigation into the biggest murder in the history of the state, the Dublin and Monaghan bombings in 1974 despite - or maybe I should say because of - strong suspicions by the Irish army and guards that it wasn't just the work of the loyalists. Too busy making excuses for other murders carried out by the Brits and their proxy gangs along the border I suppose.
As for Warrington, unlike the bombings carried out by your SAS/UVF friends, adequate warnings were given - IRA insists Warrington bomb alerts were given: Terrorists fear loss of support - UK - News - The Independent

Being elected in Ireland is hardly a measure of success or credibility unfortunately. The special potion of having 'what it takes' to be elected in this country is no longer a badge of honour. Devlin at least stood up for equality for all and championed the weak in society, quite the opposite of our very own Lucinda who feels same sex marriages are harmful to our society.
" British troops would be off the streets in a couple of years" Maybe, but much of the cause of the conflict, the RUC and B Specials in the guise of the UDR would still have been so called ' policing ' the statelet and the resultant thuggery and secterianism to keep the taigs in their place to reignite trouble. Their wasn't the disbandment of teh B Specials/UDR or the RUC been reformed into the PSNI as per the GFA.
" Internment would have ended " Maybe, it ended in 1975 anyway ( and should be pointed out that 1,874 (95%) of whom were Catholic and 107 (5%) Protestants - so much for British good intentions and even handedness)
" Anti-Discrimination laws would continue to be brought in by the British government " An almost laughable comment, but coming from a blueshirt nothing else could be expected as Sir Garrets' party always see the Brits in Ireland as a benign, benevolent, neutral charity trying to keep the peace between the warring, illogical IrishIf the Brits had such good intentions, they could have brought in such legislation as promised in 1969 instead of assaulting and murdering civil rights marchers, the Falls Road curfew etc and not wait until 1994 in reaction to the Provos doing billions of pounds of damage in the city of London, Manchester etc

And around and around ye go. It can also be said ignorance is the root of all evil. I always laugh at this attitude that the conflict was all a sectarian nature, between Nationalists and Loyalist. Rubbish. The Southern Government have been left off scot free. They also have responsibility to what happened in the North of Ireland. The initial FG government of the 20s colluded with the British State to create the gerrymandered state we have today. Basically treason. And look what happened...
What did southern Governments do for Irish people while they were been murdered, on the streets of Belfast and Derry and elsewhere. Sweet f-all! Lynch gave a fine speech in the 70s about not standing back, while Irish People were been killed, and what happened. More Irish people got shot, while a government who supposedly claimed the 6 counties. In 1974 and before, the British Militia backed by the British State, murdered over 30 people in one day, and what did the FG/Lab government do. The covered it up, and continually do so. I’m shamed to say I live under the southern cowardly governments.
Yet while, been abandoned by the Southern State, Irish Republicans stood up to the combined forces of the BA RUC & Loyalist Militia, yet were not defeated as such, just some were content that the Orange State was smashed, yet rule for the Brits. To stand up for your community while under attack from the British state showed true, patriotism and bravery, qualities that southern Governments have never had, and still do not. I’m not been Romantic about the conflict, mistakes were made and let’s hope we never see it again. However considering that Stormont normalizes British Rule and imbeds Sectarianism within his own structures, does not give me a lot of hope. This pompous attitude from the south sickens me, considering the cowardly acts of successive FG FF Lab governments, were a major factor in the outbreak of the conflict. To sum up, stick your self-serving cowardly attitude where the sun don't shine. FG the biggest cowards this state has ever seen!
Perhaps you might use your time machine to dial in 12th Feb 1976 when Frank Stagg died on huger strike, you might also note that your good friends in FG and Lab hijacked his coffin, buried him in a plot against his last will and testament and then poured 6 feet of concrete on top of his coffin to ensure his last wishes would not be carried out.
You seem to have a very select memory. Mind you since you promote FG that failing does not surprise me
