Sinn Fein to meet IMF today

Last year Sinn Fein requested a meeting with the IMF to discuss options on the bailout. That meeting is taking place today. What comes from the meeting will be interesting. We heard what FF and FG have said on the matter now I will hear another side of it.

I suppose Pearse Doherty will be questioning the IMF representatives.

The party requested the meeting late last year and said it wanted to impress upon the IMF how cuts are hurting the Irish people.

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams said Sinn Féin also wanted more detail on how goalposts can be moved.

Are they giving the IMF 2 mins to get out?

In all honesty, even though I despise Sinn Fein, I hope they get Gerry Kelly to lead a delegation of hardliners to that meeting.

The IMF needs introduced to that type of negotiation.

Even better they should take Billy Hitchinson with them as a silent observer. Nothing like making a point

Then again I am sure the present leadership in Sinn Fein would never allow such a thing to happen as they need to keep there US friends onside and keep licking there ass's.

There is no harm in having a discussion. I'm nor sure what the IMF can say on the possibility of default. That is the basis of all commentary I've heard from Sinn Fein.
