Can Aengus O'Snodaigh and Arthur Morgan keep their seats for Sinn Fein? Looking close...

I can't believe SF polled so badly, it'll be some round table discussion after this one.

Believe it. People are just not interested in their angry republicanism and their links with the IRA.
Who would want green "one of the mob" ratings? Red and proud!

Oh there certainly will be, and a few guys might even find themselves hung up in the back of a cow shed near the border.

What a pity sinn fein/ MI5 failed to do it.....what will the dail do without these towering democrats and intellectuals?

when you can't get an MEP elected, something has gone wrong.

Sinn Fein have polled dismally. For a party that was steadily rising for so long, it doesn't make sense. The only logical reasoning is that they were lost in a two-horse race, but of ALL their candidates surely Mary Lou was a safe bet?

If she couldn't get in, theres nothing suggesting these two are safe.

They have actually increased their 1st preference vote. Obviously it is well below what they had hoped but many of their candidates were narrowly beaten. And also attracting transfers are still a big problem.

But overall in my view, they are a party here to stay. This is the first time since 1994 that they have failed to make any noticeable advance. A blip in my opinion.

What people are these? Surely they would have been the same people who would have voted for the PDs (and particularly McDowell).
