    SF likely to lose seats!

Crowe and Morgan look to be gone, MLM now unlikely to get a seat.

They might be able to fool the Nordies, but we're not as stupid in this country!

though its to early to be overly confident but if its right, then we can all be very very relieved

Yep it's the good news story of the election! I' love to see an interview with Mary Poo

I'd hold your partying just yet, there may not be the big breakthrough this time but SF will come out with a gain in seats

if it does pan out being bad for them esp if they actually lose a seat or two I'm wondering whom they'll try and blame for the conspiracy against them......

    It's looking good so far.

If it stays like this they have been given a clear message by the electorate.

I reckon the SF people will need to focus their efforts on Northern Ireland now and forget about the Republic.

I'm amazed at the collapse in Mary Lou McDonald's vote - I thought she was a certainty. She is very talented but she represents a looney movement.

I work in the north inner city and there have been several IRA murders in the last few months and voters know what the story is regardless of what the SF PR people say. Go down Sherriff Street some time - there's a 24 hour Garda presence to protect people. It looks like Belfast at the height of the troubles.

Whilst they may come up with a slight gain - the problem is that it shows that the momentum has stopped which means that a breakthrough in future cannot be based on a soft feelgood NIre factor - it will have to be based on popular policies. What is obvious from this election (thank God) is that the key poll all along in the election was the one where>70% of the electorate stated that they wanted better public services but would not pay more tax for it i.e. focusing on public services alone was actually a negative. Anyways, good luck SF - whilst I disagree with ALL of your policies - what you have done is make the rest of the Parties up their game and actually take politics seriously. As a Kerryman, I would equate you with the Tyrone/Armagh teams - excellent teams who deserve all they get - but ultimately Kerry have improved because you forced them to do so.
