Sinn Féin says it will try to close Sellafield if elected

Sinn Féin is pledging to embark on a vigorous campaign to close the Sellafield nuclear plant if voted into power.

The party says cancer rates in Co Louth are 20% over the national average because of its proximity to the plant.

It's also blaming Sellafield for the cancer death-rate in the county which it says is now at 20%.

Sinn Féin TD Arthur Morgan says he will succeed where the Minister for the Environment Dick Roche has failed on this.

any member of SF care to explain how this will be achieve were all previous attempts up to the European court of justice by the current government have failed. Or is this just an piece of politicking ?
