'Choice' by FG to tax the top 3% 'less' could prove costly

A lot of people who were wobbling towards Kenny are moving back to FF due to the cat being let out of the bag about their pro-wealthy tax policies.

That's something that stuck out like a sore thumb during the debate last night. However, can someone explain to me what it means. The favouring the 3% top earners is something I wasn't aware of before. Can someone explain it?

The more you earn the more you benefit from from each percentage given in tax cuts and that applies to all the political parties tax cuts, not just those of FG. The same applies to percentage pay rises when applied equally across the board.
    Average expenses per TD in 2011:- FG €36,412, Lab €28,756, FF €45,219, SF €44,413, SP €23,654, PBP €31,866, WUAG €49,911, IND €37,805, CC €13,112.

that was mis interpretation and spin (well done at that by Bertie), that is not FG's intent just FF's spin on.

even if it were true Gerrry its far better than the fecking financial lunacy your mates in SF "plan"

btw - i'm not a FG member / groupie so this is not a fan boy posting, but i am an ardent SF basher

I agree that it was "misinterpretation and spin" however it was horribly inept of Enda to answer yes in the way that he did. If he doesn't know how to deal with a question like that I'm not so sure that he is up to the job.

Rich OC, agree he handled it poorly, however i don't think a single mistake should right the man off, many ppl siad the same about Bertie in 96/97.

Often its the office that makes the man and not the man the office

DrBob1972 - you're right of course. The real problem I have is the whole handling of the Campaign. I am also following the US presidential elections and the difference between all of our politicians and even the dodgiest Republican candidate is their ability to coherently deliver simple messages and (as New Labour used to say) stay on message. It's such simple campaigning technique - getting your message across and not taking the bait. There are so many good issues that are available Health is in crisis in the mind of the voters, serious crime was an easy one, why fall over on all crime - I really can't believe he didn't wipe the floor with Bertie.
