    Sinn Féin and Immigration

A message to everyone who is thinking of voting for Sinn Féin in the upcoming election. Be careful what you wish for, this party who up until very recently would not condemn mass murder openly advocates an open door immigration policy. Gerry Adams seems to think that as many Africans as possible should come and live in Ireland.

Reject SF for what they are, not for racial scaremongering.

I would imagine that there is a little bit of strain in SF over this issue.

Sinn Fein is a party of tolerance and opposes racism and xenophobia. The vast majority of immigrants to Ireland come from other EU countries and have a right to do so whether or not we want it. Those from outside the EU are a relatively insignificant part of the total.

The Blueshirts must be getting really worried when they grasp at straws like this to use as a cudgel to beat Sinn Fein.

True. But in this case it can be done by not feeding the xenophobic troll.

If anyone was in a position to take advantage of racist scare-mongering it was SF. They didn't and it's one of the big pluses for them in my book.
