Don't panic, the island won't dissolve and whatever comes from it will always be Irish.

I find your posts amusing. You are like a true believer in times past screaming that the world is flat.

Oh now I see, you don't actually have a clue how biology works.

A phenotype can be switched on or not, the particular one you're apparently talking of was rendered obsolete long ago. I suppose you're still using your appendix to break down cellulose.
    Rendered obsolete long ago?
    When did this happen?

When we stopped living in small kinship bands and developed agriculture and organised religion.

All I'm denying is that selfish gene theory has much validity for our species any longer if it ever even did. It's explanation of altruism has been discredited and even its author made humanity gaining control over the selfish replicators a major theme of the book in which he outlined the theory. Altruism exists for many reasons, genes are hardly of much significance to it. Here's a moose saving a marmot from drowning. Source

By the 14th century, belief in a flat earth among the educated was essentially dead.
Believe me,my friend,I never assumed that you were educated.

Ha! It has been criticised, like all science should be,not discredited.

The container had steep sides it couldn't get out. The mooses focus wasn't to get a drink of water. It lowered the marmot to the ground and nudged at it with its hoof to revive it. Looked like altruism to the people who witnessed it.
