That was a disgraceful article ROC, they didn't once mention your uncanny resemblance to Pat Shortt!

I read the whole thing out loud in a Tipp accent. (Don't worry, no one else is around)

A 1% drop in Ferris' vote would leave him at 23.5% of the vote and would probably be enough to the top the poll. It is also likely that he would pick up more transfers than Deenihan with all the Tralee based candidates who will be eliminated.

Reading through this thread you realise how keen people are to talk Sinn Féin down. But the problem is that the credibility of those who talk Sinn Féin down is not there. In the six county election people talked as though Sinn Fein were going to gain no seats, maybe lose one, etc., how people were not enthused by Sinn Féin and so on. But all the time Sinn Féin quietly had put workers on the ground, doing the hard work, working for the people on the ground. That effort, a big effort, is one of the things that makes Sinn Féin such a strong force electorally. Sinn Féin know how to win elections because Sinn Féin have a clear change agenda, Sinn Féin inspire a large number of activists on the ground, and Sinn Féin attract voters because of all of this. So its almost reassuring to read all these comments from people talking Sinn Féin down, because it shows how desperate Sinn Féins opponents have become.

I overheard the tail end of a conversation recently between Ferris and a Labour senator in LH. Ferris asked the good senator if Labour had any private polls, to which the senator (a bit of an outsider) said "they wouldn't ************************************g tell me!" He asked Ferris the same question, to which Ferris replied "I think we'll hold our own."

    Didn't sound very confident...
