Factual, are you Gerry Adams himself?

If not, then you must surely realise this conference is a complete waste of time and money.

Please tell me what the strategy is? In what way will this conference help "The Cause"?

Just a thought, but we're talking about it, aren't we?

Im not sure I understand what you mean, if you mean talking is doing, then I would argue that it simply isn't and that community outreach, north and south, and genuine policies are needed.

If you mean that I am in no position to criticise as I am merely talking, then I would argue that A: I am a political activist as well as a member of this forum and B: I do not pretend that I am going to unite the country at any stage, nor am I claiming that a 32 county would necessarily improve living conditions for ordinary people north or south of the border.

My point was that due to this conference people are talking about a United Ireland. It seems to me that SF are at least making an effort unlike the rest of the Political parties in Ireland..

Not obvious and quite possibly not true either. It's one thing for so-called 'southerners' to desire unity in the abstract. It will be quite different if it comes to the crunch. There will be real economic and paramilitary issues to consider. 'Southerners' will also have to confront the fact that the cultural makeup of their 'country' will change very significantly upon unification, in a way that not all will be comfortable with. I for one will be voting no, if it happens in my lifetime, and there will be many more like me.

I think implicitly under the GFA it is required for the people of the 26 counties to vote yes, otherwise the six counties would not be able to fulfill their self determination to join the UI or the UK as they choose.

This image from the British Social Attitudes survey shows that support for a UI in Britain could use being shored up and has fallen badly below 50%. Showing the desirability of SF's conference in London.

Will you walk into my parlour?" said the Spider to the Fly,
'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to shew when you are there."
Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again."
