I'd say there is a big gap in the delivery of public services between the two states. I know this might be a sweeping over-generalisation but things generally seem to be looked after better in the 6 counties. This morning I saw a fella washing a bus shelter. I never once saw that in Galway or Dublin. As for the politicians.....there are plenty of thieves in Stormont too.

Let's remember, there are protestants that vote for nationalist parties in the north, indeed some of them are political representatives. The challenge is to persuade more people to vote for the nationalist parties. On the demographics, the estimate is that every year, the population balance in the 6 counties changes 0.5% towards the catholic population.
Within 15 to 20 years, there will be a catholic majority in the 6 counties.

Just lets make one thing clear. This is not about "waiting for demographics" this is all about making the argument. The only way a UI will come about is if the arguments are good and are put out there.

That's complete rubbish, public services are terrible in the six counties - think abuot the state of the NHS waiting lists or of education for a start - and much worse than here in the south.

Can't talk about the health service but realy factual, it can't be worse than the 26 counties set up. The college system is far better, more organised and very job orientated. I can't comment on first and second level education though.

Sinn Féin have unveiled an important conference on Irish Unity to be held in London. Speakers include unionists as well as a very wide range of highly influential interested parties drawn from public life.
    So which Unionists are speaking?

David Adams is a Unionist, formerly a politician in the UDP (Ulster Democratic Party).

while Lord Bew is close to unionist Lord Trimble, formerly an adviser to him, so can speak from a Unionist Perspective. Indeed if you check out his article on the website you can see he does put a unionist point of view ("Ro******************************************s to uniity").

Sinn Féin have even invited the SDLP speaker, Conal McDevitt. Sinn Féin deserve a lot of credit for organising this event.
