Why would anyone want to unify with an entity that has such a mediocre standard of healthcare provision, taking all the worst bits of American healthcare and calling that a role-model? Why would they want to join with a state that has consistently elected thieves and charlatans to power, being essentially an organised criminal conspiracy for large portions of time, and kept electing them long after it was obvious that they were such? Talk of unity is premature until you create something worth unifying with...

lol-come off it. The people of the 26 counties are better educated than those in the 6 counties - I would argue.

That's because you think we all live in a slum of our own making, but dont recognise that the economic problems here stem from partition and not the people.
    Some SF'er you are.

Northern Ireland has consistantly outclassed Britain and the Republic when it comes to education results.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/8223855.stm
Northern Ireland's students are still the best performers, with 75.1% of entries gaining A* to C grades and 27.1% gaining As or A*s.

The region has one of the youngest populations in Europe and educational achievements are high, with students consistently performing well above other UK regions at GCSE and A-Level.

The Republic attracts investment away from the north with things like corporation tax which is about 3 times lower.
This leaves the north at a serious disadvantage as businesses only go where they can mazimise profit, as the north is such an expensive place to invest compared to the south it simply cant compete.
The British then flood the place with pointless Public sector jobs and hand outs, but we dont need them we need to run our own country and sort out the problems instead of covering them up with subsidies.

The most highly educated youth of these islands, yet a basket case economy.
Northern Ireland is a completely failed entity with massive potential, it's important that people acknowledge this and leave behind the old predjudices of the past.
Unionism wants us to be dependent on handouts, and greatful for them
Unionism wants to degrade us and make people believe that we are better off by being controlled and dragged into an unsuitable economy with unsuitable policies which simply dont work.

If you are an Irish Republican then its about time you started showing respect to the people of the north, we are not a charity case we merely want to control our country which has been mismanaged and abused for too long,we want to control our future and a have chance to open up our potential.

A reminder that this important conference - with inclusive participation from across the spectrum - takes place tomorrow in London so if you can make it to London tomorrow or are passing through give it a look in. Conference website is here:London Irish Unity Conference - Home

If you are unable to attend then you can still read some of the exciting discussion and writing that the conference has generated: London Irish Unity Conference - Articles

This is the latest initiative of the Sinn Féin Task Force on Irish Unity.

No - Sinn Féin 100% supports the GFA. However the GFA allows for persuasion and discussion and that is exactly what this conference aims to foster.

Michael Collins should never have signed that bit of paper for Lyod George, it caused a lot of trouble
