Their "sucessful stratergy" in the six counties is based on the politics of sectarian headcount and who gets what resources...Which isnt going to be very sucessful in bringing about the Republic.
The question is...What do Sinn Fein stand for? Economnically they moved a lot to the right (the realities of goverment and all that...) which is obviously going to go against them in the 26 counties where appealing to voters on sectarian grounds isnt going to work...Hence Joe Higgins beating Mary Lou.

Can anyone help me with a question.
Who are the people in the politburo? The people who ordered Forde and the other SF members of the council to vote against the budget. Have any any of them been elected to office?
I said it few years ago and everything that has happened since has proven it. There is a glass ceiling for "left of Labour" parties. Sinn Fein are simply going the same way as Democratic Left, The Workers Party, CnaP and National Labour. The only question is whether in the longer term they merge into Labour or if they stay as a separate entitity and become a micro-party.
SF's vote is collapsing in Dublin and they are losing elected representatives. The next General Election is key. If they cannot get at least two seats in Dublin, with the swing against the government, then it's only a matter of time before they fade away.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.
