Right, I've had confirmation from someone on behalf of Killian Forde to confirm exclusively to Politics.ie that he has resigned from Sinn Fein, but has no further comment to make at this time.

    Oh please excuses excuses excuses

Uncle Joe won it on a shoestring budget and he is effectively a one man band.

    Nothing personally against MLM

    - but SF has lost touch with its core vote and now the Party in the Capital is imploding...

In a press release Mr Forde said he was working for Slovakian intelligence and never really expected to get elected.

So Forde has left SF, where do you think he is likely to go labour or FG, it would be a shame if he went independent that could be political suicide and he is a talented politician
If we were all born equal we would all be white, middle-class, middle-aged men!

Sure they are giving hospitals to less talented independents! He could do worse and join the republican party.

horsesh1te through and through (and you know it), perhaps if FF had kept the seat then you could argue that SF were squeezed but Higgins taking the seat means:-

    a) there was a left wing / socialist seat there
    b) voters either disliked MLM or SF
    c) SF (at least in Dublin) are utterly out of touch and riven with internal politics and feuding factions and not focused on the big picture

he'd be lucky to get some grit for a road in the present economic situation, the day for indpendents getting big lists are over, at least with FG or Labour he may be able to rise up to some sort of level of power

They had no trouble in getting candidates elected last year. Is it a matter of leadership or what?

Someone over on slugger seems to think that Killian will be announcing tomorrow that's he's joining Labour. Not sure of that myself, but thought I'd share it.
