See when you're one of them, they big up the diversity of people's background but if you leave they tell everyone you were never welcome really.
Dan Sullivan. I was back but we still couldn't all have a vote.

I doubt we'd be making cracks about someone's background, sure you can tackle him on policy or his record as a public rep but smart remarks that say people with an education and a job aren't welcome in SF says more about the poster's prejudices and limited worldview than it does about anything else.

Neither Pat McL nor I nor Eoin's statement were denigrating Killian about his background.

I dont see where anyone says this and I agree with you that a persons background (within reason) shouldn't matter once they are committed to their party.

Of course it matters when you live in a class society.

How many people from working class backgrounds are sitting in the Dail?

We need a more diverse dail. Not just more working class but also more women, blacks and asians and other ethnic minorities, and gays and lesbians, and disabled.

Fair enough as long as they are working class blacks, asians, gays and disabled people. In case you didnt notice there is a class war in this city and the proles are being battered.

PSF in Dublin pushed out its radical working class wing which became Eirigi and than pushed out Christie Burke. So yes Killian's background his very important.
