Been saying for years that SF were a spent force down here...

They moved away from their Irish Republican Working Class base

    - and courted liberal trendy Internationalists instead

    Result: FAILURE

I'd heard there were discussions with both Labour and Fine Gael too.

This might sound like an odd defection by a Shinner, but Killian is a strong candidate, who would easily attract a wide electorate outside of his current votebase (those who voted for him in June in the locals)

I was wondering that to, even the BNP were able to make capital out of the dissaffected in the UK, but Sinn Fein can't get any conversions
Why have Sinn Fein got such a bad image problem, and why are these guys resigning? is it because they realise Sinn Fein are going nowhere or because of the Liam revelations or a mixture of both?

Remember that Mary Lou's seat was effectively taken away because the number of representatives from Dublin was cut from 4 to 3 so it was never expected realistically that Mary Lou was going to keep it without a major swing towards SF.

Mick, we're trying to say on topic here and discuss Killian's (so far unconfirmed) resignation from the party.
