Violence? That is nothing to do with the issues in hand.

And where is the melt down,. And exactly where and what is the open conflict.
All partys shed cllrs. td.s etc. some come and some go.
SF were right to mark his card for reneging on party directives,
He Should also disclose when he had discussions with the Labour party , before the vote or after.

I think i might join him in leaving the party to be honest, and judging by a few text I've received this morning, it doesn’t seem like im alone.... I don’t think our party realises how close we might have been to have had a new wave of dedicated politicians in effective decision making roles in local and national government both here and in the 6 counties. Any progressive types I know in out party are well pissed off, and if are not leaving, are certainly no longer playing an active role.

Now .. Off to learn that internationale, or whatever is those pesky Trotskyites sing these days !!

Lets see, supporting the workers in ,Thomas Cook, CoCa Cola, The Dockers Recently. Highlighting homelessness and supporting and organising marches and protests against the recent cutbacks. But you and I know you'll just ignore this in your SF bashing posts.
Not sure about your last question, maybe they took him at his word, amd respected that word, Like when backed SF calls for other Ex. SF cllrs to hand back their seats.Or signed a pledge to fight under a SF banner despite having serious personel doubts for the previous 2 1/2 years, (as he said himself, and we only have his word for that)
Just saying 'supporting the workers in Thomas cook...' just isn't good enough as councillors from other parties would claim the same. What real support did they give that was different and effective? Organising marches and protests? Fine but achieved exactly what? You forgot to add 'backing the bank bail out' or working Public/'Privite finance deals where they have a say such as in school building and hospital provision in the 6 cos, completely at odds with party policy and leaving the ratepayers with bills for generations to pay fat dividends to fat speculators, so a serious lack of integrity there.

Some think he'll join FG as its alleged his parents are very blue! Another theory in support of the FG option is that it would allow the blue replace Terence Flanagan with somone who can write his own speeches!!!

Alan , your answer is so arrogant as to be typical S.F. bull dung. I know plenty of sinn feiners in various parts of this country so your assumptions are well off the mark and the arrogance of your 'you'll just have to take my word for it' would be worthy of your great leader, the one with the poor memory. No wonder your party is leaching councillors at a great rate.

This is fantastic news - I always felt Killian belonged in the broad Labour family, and I'm thrilled to hear he'll be joining Labour. Hopefully this will also encourage many of the other progressive SF members to look at making a political change.

Makes two Labour seats in Dublin North East a very real possibility also.
