well said keith, and for the record the 'message, hasnt been lost by real ff'ers...........I take on board the view that 2 jurastictions, 2 different methods of election are hard to allign...........

however, we shouldnt mistake the real reason for sf southern ireland meltdown....their natural supporters in the south were far from democratic individuals with a zest to change/formulate policy.............whilst their 'newbies' moved on as change wasnt quick enough (indeed you only effect change on the inside, ala gp)...

A combination of labour and ff will wipe out their dail chances in dublin, next election, although to ensure crowe doesnt re-emerge, ff will have to find someone for dsw and quick....

A simple look at the facts shows this is nonsense. Sinn Féin aim for long term sustainable growth and that is exactly what Sinn Féin achieve.

In each and every like for like successive election in the 26 counties since the 1980s Sinn Féin have either increased vote share or maintained its number of elected reps.

In 2009 alone Sinn Féin:

*Increased vote share in the 26 county Euro elections
*Maintained number of elected councillors in the locals
*Increased vote share in bye elections to Dail
*Topped the poll for the first time, by quite some margin, in the six county Euro election.

Would you ever change you tune turns out Adams was protecting a paedo, ye are in shambles in Cork with senior people packing it in all over the place down there and Jonathan O'Brien not running in the next GE , 3 reps have left ye in Dublin and that is before more stories are going to come out about ye in tomorrows papers. The only thing saving your bacon right now is the DUP'S troubles and what does that say ??? it says people only see ye as an Northern party.

A senior Labour party member has confirmed to me that they understand that Killian Forde will be joining them following his resignation yesterday from Sinn Fein (which P.ie broke last night).

Killian Forde will not comment on the issue presently, and I asked the Labour press office to confirm or deny it, they responded firstly saying they'd get back to me, and then shortly after texted me saying they wouldn't comment on the specific case.

However, the person who confirmed it is reliable and trustworthy, but asked not to be named as the source.

This is reading waaay too much into the departure of Killian. As I have stated elsewhere Sinn Féin reps are not individually self promoting or careerist, Sinn Féin is in contrast an activist campaigning party that puts policies before careerism of individuals. Sinn Féin reps take only the AIW. Killian Forde clearly has found all of this a frustration and furthermore was clearly out of line with Sinn Féin policy position on the progressive left of politics. But this is Sinn Féin's strength and USP in an era when other parties have corrupt power and money individuals, out to line their own pockets. People relate to Sinn Féin because Sinn Féin reps are on the AIW.

Can anyone hazard a good guess as to what is happening in Sinn Fein. So many resignations and so much open conflict suggests they are in meltdown as a hardline party.Will there be a breakaway group with violence the No1 aim ?

Good on him. an actual politician with some political morals. how hypocritical of him would it have been for him to have voted against the budgets he presided over in committee level. Our party just does not see that, and is more intent on playing blind party politics, than stepping back for a second from the situation and understanding his position.

I think i might join him in leaving the party to be honest, and judging by a few text I've received this morning, it doesn’t seem like im alone.... I don’t think our party realises how close we might have been to have had a new wave of dedicated politicians in effective decision making roles in local and national government both here and in the 6 counties. Any progressive types I know in out party are well pissed off, and if are not leaving, are certainly no longer playing an active role.

Now .. Off to learn that internationale, or whatever is those pesky Trotskyites sing these days !!
