Assad's Abbatoir: How the Syrian regime hanged 13,000 in one prison alone.

** WARNING: GRAPHIC DESCRIPTIONS BELOW **

Amnesty International has just released a truly horrific report on mass executions of civilians in one of Syria's major prisons. It's based on the testimony of dozens of individuals who were in the prison including detainees, guards and judges.

In Saydnaya prison which is near Damascus, witnesses report between 20 and 50 prisoners being taken from their cells every week, tortured into giving confessions and then being hanged. Others - who were in cells one floor above the killing floor - report the gurgling sound of their dying colleagues as they choked to death on the rope. Young prisoners whose weight was not sufficient for them to die during the hanging were pulled down and had their necks broken by guards.

The figures are for 2011-15 so it's not unreasonable to wonder if another 2-3,000 have been killed since then. It's also reasonable to assume that similar activites are going on in other Syrian prisons.

This article contains even more horrific descriptions.

How many of this alleged figure of 13000 were ISIS butchers or their supporters and does AMNESTY have the figure for the number of civilian prisoners killed by ISIS?

    "Mass hanging and extermination"

The phrase used above in the Amnesty piece suggests a bias against the Assad Govt (not "regime").

Re the first question - not many, apparently. Most were ordinary civilians.

I haven't seen a figure for the second question but there may be one out there.

    There are no "good guys".

    Just better propagandists.

Sounds as credible as their Kuwait incubators story was.

It would be a good idea to read an article before posting it and commenting on it.

Amnesty International didn't release that story. They were one of the organizations who discredited it.

What about Libya? Amnesty International, Soros funded, has no credibility.
