Mary Harney doubles her spin doctors by keeping official PD one

Mark Costigan, who is paid €115,000 a year, has been retained to answer media queries in relation to Mary Harney’s (pictured) political role in government. Costigan’s work is in addition to that of Derek Cunningham, Harney’s health spokesman, who is being paid €122,300 to represent the former PD leader in her role as health minister.

Yesterday Joan Burton, the Labour party’s deputy leader, said there was a “moral obligation” on Harney to cut back on her personal public relations team. “She is an independent TD without a political party, so I just don’t see how it’s justified for her to have a political party spokesman,” said Burton.

This is just an indication of how removed the government have become from reality.

Not only are the politicians out of touch, but their advisers have been in the job so long that they have joined their political masters in their Ivory towers. Their advisers have become civil servants. This may explain why the government's recent public relations have been so atrocious.

Yeah, my experiences exactly.

And when I write to the HSE as directed I still don't get an answer. I get acknowledgements, then non answers. I have one query going on since May and still not even half an answer.
