Fianna Fail to run Fiona O'Malley in Dublin South in 2012

I have had a reliable tip-off that Fianna Fail is planning to run Fiona O'Malley as their lead candidate in Dublin South in 2012. Apparently it is true that Seamus Brennan does not plan to run, and Tom Kitt has already announced that he will not stand again. Obviously FF are unwilling to place all their bets on Senator Maria Corrigan, but this will be a political earthquake. It is likely to alienate many loyal members of FF up and down the country, not to mention being terminal for the PDs. It is to be presumed that Grealish will not continue as a PD if this comes to pass. It is unclear whether or not FF has had discussions with or made approaches to Senator O'Malley, but my source was adamant that she will be the FF candidate for Dublin South next time.

It would be a major coup for FF if they pulled it off, first bringing back blaney, then re-habilitating Flyn and now possibly bringing back the daughter of the man who caused the biggest split from FF.

I wonder what FG are up to in DS? Surely Mitchell and Shatter are a bit long in the tooth to stand again?

I'll have you know that she's a member of Seanad Eireann, a VERY important role............ sorry, even I can't get away with that.

It's hardly shock of the year if it was true - all she is doing is going back to Daddy's old party - and as she has had such an impact in the Seanad - not the people of DS will be lining up to vote for her.

She'll be the Liz O'Donnell/Lucinda Bimbo of FF thehn - all fur coat and no knickers and well worthy of her place among the most over rated politicans ever. Like. You know.

this is the worse kept secret, has been around for a few weeks, but the announcement was always going to take place after the Lisbon Treaty, sure all we need now is Fiona to confirm it is true.

Barry, yeah made be I am made, but I have been told from a ff source, and a non political source that this is going to happen, so we will just have to wait and see. Sure Michale Brennan was he not a FF Senator before he ran for the pds. Sure Barry if I am wrong there is a cheque upstairs written for you with the amount of €100, I will dated the day the next General is called.
