Harney wants leader from outside parliamentary party

    RTE
The Minister for Health and the interim leader of the Progressive Democrats, Mary Harney, has said she will be urging the party to put in place a change of rules to allow the next leader of the party to come from outside the parliamentary party.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio's News At One, Ms Harney said she will be asking the party to do this at its National Executive meeting on Thursday and at its general council meeting on Sunday.

She said neither she nor the only other Progressive Democrats' TD, Noel Grealish, wanted to lead the party.
Looks like she is doing decent thing - but it makes her look very FF.

well d'uh. Imagine that election. All those in favour?

    Noel: Aye
Mary: Ah yeh go on then
We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.

Did Grealish approve that in advance? Bertie annoints Brian, Mary de-annoints Noel.
