Unless my understanding is faulty--and it could be--FF were returned with 78 seats, one of which was the CC's seat, who was returned without having to stand for reelection. By that reckoning, both FF and the alternative then were returned with 77 seats, on the basis of the electorate's voting preferances. In other words a dead heat.

That hardly constitutes a landslide does it, and certainly not one that should lead them to conclude that they can ram Co-Location down the electorate's throat, come hell or high water. To do so with that kind of underwhelming mandate would be skating on very thin ice indeed.

Methinks it wouldn't take much to tip the balance once a few more scandals (some of which are percolating nicely in the wings) were to appear over the horizon.

The coalition for change was made up of FG and Labour, who between them got 71 seats, not 77.

The Greens were never a committed part of that alternative as we can now see. If Labour had of had the balls to stand as an independent party then we might actually have gotten a change of government.
