Michael McDowell and the Bilderberg Group

The Sunday World is running a story this morning alleging McDowell recently attended a meeting of the Bilderberg Group - a favorite organization of conspiracy theorists the world over that allegedly is part of a global government pulling strings all over the planet  . This probably does not come as a great surprise to most of us if it is true !! However as powerful as this group is on a global scale they still obviously do not control the electorate in Dublin South East.

BBC article on the Bilderberg Group:

Bilderberg exists alright. Peter Mandelson, Dennis Healy and other UK politicians are/were members - outed by the (UK) Independent on Sunday columnist Jon Ronson about ten years ago when he went off to investigate what he thought was a nutty conspiracy theory and found out it was true. Hilary Clinton mentions them on her website.

From a PD perspective it is an acknowledgment of the global power of your fallen leader so it would seem like a good thing to you. the bigger question is how much influence they are exerting on little old us here in Ireland and how much are they taking the place of our democratically elected government and our constitution.

From what I've heard. He owns some kind of business that supplies resources to American weapons factories. Dont really have alot of info on it. Basically he profits from the Iraq war.

    Influencing Ireland?

I'd imagine a group which is as supposedly "powerful" would have bigger, more important "strings to pull" than the ones on this little rock.

It is not only an organisation for the politically elite, although their main focus is on economic and political governance. The organisation has members from elite corporations and universities in their ranks. They also sponsor particular think tanks on an ad hoc basis. I do not know if they support any ongoing think tanks. If you want to know the latest in social engineering on a national and global scale, these are your people. If you think Bertie and FF laid the blueprint for our present prosperty, think again. Bertie and FF are merely managers. Although they are managers who can give themselves pay raises whenever they like. Nice.

Oh, and if anyone thinks they only gather for the occasional dinner party, check where you're at on the gullability index.

This is a very strategically positioned little rock where US/European relations are concerned - not least because of the tensions and strains that have emerged between the US, France, Germany etc over Iraq. It's reasonable to conclude that some real pressure was brought to bear on Ahern to allow the use of Shannon in the face of almost unanimous public hostility to the war.

McDowell was the traitor who signed away Irish sovereignty without any democratic approval for so doing. Bilderberg will be delighted with him.

For anyone who wants a good account of the Bildeberg Group see Jon Ronson's fantastic book "Them - Adventures with Extremists".

Re Mc Dowell meeting with them this seems approapriate as they are a group of economic liberal people who get good speakers into their annual event. Like him or loathe him but Mc Dowell is v eloquent and would go down well with this set.
