And think of all those poor suckers who bought soon after publication. Their copies won't be worth a bent farthing by next week.

Received my free copy on April 4th I think. I swaggered around it for a few days, before deciding to read the intro.... Hooked.. I'm on page 117 and ain't stopping 'til i'm finished.
If all 50,000 recipient families of this book , read this book, we will have a PD revival, I suspect in Dublin North only though. I think this is where the majority of the books went ??
It is a great read. I don't remember Des O'Malley in the Dáil, but I remember the bitching with CJ.
I now have respect for some people, that I never thought imaginable.![]()

Im almost finished it too, after only 3 days. It's a good read, but hopelessly positive about its subject matter. O Malley can do little wrong, FF are total rakes and Labour are utter bogeymen. Not in any dramatic language sense, just more the points of view that are reflected. I've really enjoyed it, and gained a grudging respect for some aspects of the PDs (most importantly their desire to push policy to the forefront of political debate) but there are a lot of gaps and it is biased, even if it is occassionaly mildly critical. One odd ommission is between chapters 14+15 - theres a total gap between 1994 and 1997 (from the collapse of the FF Lab coalition to the 97 election). Its so conspicuous I actually checked the pages to see if some were missing.Originally Posted by EvotingMachine0197
