There are many posters who spend all day online, getting involved in sometimes bitter exchange of posts. There are people who start the day with Morning Ireland, read the Irish Times at 11s while listening to Pat Kenny, watch the news at lunchtime and tea.

Occasionaly, people post in the view it will be read by someone with influence, or somehow change the country.

How can people get over these delusions and lose the addiction?
If I didn't have a job I'd be the same!

OK I draw the line at Pat Kenny but otherwise....

I don't know how you can "kick the habbit" but internet forums hardly play any role in anything. It's good to trash arguments out and whatever but I'm under no illusion that what I post here means anything in a wider context. There is a certain type of person on the internet.

The way this site and the other "largest forum in Ireland" handled the Lisbon Treaty thing was bizarre. Both forums became a battleground and ye know, both forums got it wrong I think. The latter more so due to their moderation policy essentially promoting a pro-lisbon bias.

Heroin or meth might redirect your addiction, but until you can change your core personality, you are stuck with the need to know.

If Kit-Kats were alcohlic I would be lying in a gutter somewhere, plotting how to get my next fix. As it is the man in the sweet shop thinks I fancy him now because I am always in there. Wouldn't mind so much but he weighs at least 40 stones and only has one tooth. Doesn't say a lot for me, does it?
A gem of a post in the 'life is beautiful' category that brought a smile to my face. Kudos to you Laz. Can't pos rep you as it won't let me, must have done so recently.

Makes me wish there was a front page to P.ie so more people could relish this post.

I was addicted to Yahoo political chatrooms for years and irish politics were never discussed. Last 12 months have switched to Paltalk chatrooms and not nearly as addicted. So, stick to sites like this if you do not want a more serious problem

Get elected or appointed to Leinster House - hard to think of another place so out of touch and isolated from the real world.

Suppose the boardrooms of AIB,Bof I and Anglo mightn't be a bad bet either.
