When we talk about a PD vision, we are really talking about the vision these four shared. Competition, integrity in public office, entrepreneurship as social justice (I am nothing if not consistant ). You can add other things such as the attitude to the North and Liz's work on Development Aid.

I find it strange that you single out the PDs as a party of no vision, when it is quite clear that the PDs have a distinct view of the country should operate, unlike FG and FF.
I'm not singling out the PDs, i just happen to care that the PDs do have a vision.

I'm not disagreeing with you either.

Let me put it this way:
McDowell once criticised a party as monkies at the back of a television. You're saying the PDs know how to operate the country/television.
I want them to tell us a bit more of what they want to see on the television!
There's a difference in ensuring we fix the TV to watch something that's on onw and ensuring the TV keeps ticking over so we can watch something next week.

What do the PDs want to see on TV? I can honestly say I do not know.
The standard of excellence is an infinite suggestiveness, naturalism is the one thing to be condemned.

Thought it best to use that metaphor rather than comparing the PDs' ability to communicate effectively their liberal political philosophy and vision to the Roman Catholic Church's ability to communicate effectively their basic philosophy of love (given that that's what's behind their stances on sexuality).
