I wouldn't be surprised if the this ID database turns out to be a job creation exercise within the public services. It will certainly turn out to be the most god almighty clusterfeck, and that's even before we consider the civil liberties angle.
Proven incompetence, ineptitude and/or corruption right across the Public services ...not a single dismissal ........
Thats why our Public services are utterly sh1te -every one of them- yet still you get those on the gravy train pretending its otherwise ....Laughable
May I once again offer you my sincerest commiserations for failing to pass the Civil Service Clerical Officer exam all those years ago?
You would undoubtedly have made a superb clerical officer and your impressive feral intelligence would have greatly enriched the ranks of your local CPSSU branch.
HOW TO GET PROMOTED
Often heads of committees create projects to further careers. Responsibility is diffused among interlocking committees so nobody can be held responsible. The heads get promoted before the projects prove their worth and if the projects fail, they can't be blamed. Bland PR announcements about project failures typically state that "lessons have been learned", without mentioning who learned them.
What is a "computer guy"? Yes, I work in IT, but that doesn't characterise me. It takes up maybe 40 hours of my week - at most. The rest of the time I'm not an IT guy. I guess I spend it being me.
I'm interested in your disavowal of formal logic. Logic is a splendid tool for performing analysis. It's not perfect, of course, and I'm not in a position to claim that I am sort of logic gate; even if I were so I'd view that as an absence of any intelligence whatever. I've been involved in processor design; they are the most idiotic conception and their only redeeming feature is that they are incredible fast in churning out outputs that they are designed to do.
