Red hair and red faces at the How to Elect More Women conference yesterday as Taoiseach Enda Kenny made the utterly outrageous and unacceptable observation that Minister Kathleen Lynch has red hair.
Apparently the feminists in the audience were not amused. How dare a man comment on a women's appearance!
Enda left red-faced as parting words go down in flames - The Irish Times - Sat, Jan 21, 2012Turning to his host, the Taoiseach began: “Let me compliment the Minister of State, Kathleen Lynch. Let me assure you this: she is fighting her corner. Believe you me, as I said to her many years ago: what they said about the flaming red hair speaks appropriately for her fight from Cork and the responsibility she has.”

Introducing the Minister of State, conference facilitator Olivia O’Leary remarked: “There’s more to her than her red hair.”
And there was a big cheer from the floor – for Kathleen’s flaming red mane and Enda’s doleful red face.
This sort of outrageous misogyny cannot be allowed to continue. I propose that all female politicians in future wear a burkha in order to prevent any comments by men on how they look. Only then will we have true equality
