non-story nonsense from the paper of record - good job there's nothing of note happening in Ireland or Europe that we should be reading more about...

Completely nonsensical and idiotic thing to say and I would have thought that he should have known that if he was speaking in front of the professional "wimmin" he was going to get into trouble with any reference to any part of the female anatomy. He probably just blurted it out unthinkingly, proof positive, of course, to the female misogynists that he is clearly a sexist. The "Sistahood" would, no doubt, be suitably outraged.

Enda should keep in mind the trouble poor old Albert got into when in a heated Dail debate way back yonks, foot being in mouth, he quipped: "That's women for you!" You musn't refer to a woman's looks nowadays in public life, even if a woman uses them to her advantage, that is if you don't want a swipe of the Sistahood's crozier. .

I attended this conference yesterday. Intelligent, insightful and significant contributions were made by among others Alan Shatter (FG), Kathleen Lynch (Lab), Mary White (Green), Ivana Bacik (Lab), Catherine Byrne (FG), Sandra McLellan (SF), Mary Lou McDonald (SF), Catherine Murphy (Independent) Avril Power (FF) Jane Dillion (Lab), Ailbhe Smyth (people before profit), the Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore, FF leader Micheal Martin, Roderic O'Gorman (green), Mme Dr. Nicole Ameline former French Minister for gender issues, a spokswoman for the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Ms Ajla van Heel, Fintan O'Toole, The General Sec of FG/Lab/FF, Ms Nan Sloane, Director, Centre for Women and Democracy (who was most interesting).

If I was to be kind I would describe Mr Kennys speech as bizarre. It was by far the poorest contribution yesterday. His reference to the red hair was at the end of a rambling and confusing speech. I'm not a fan of Mr Kenny so my analysis may not be very objective. Better stop now before I get into trouble.

Why did Minister Phil Hogan drop the independent review into planning irregularities within Dublin and Cork city councils and Carlow, Meath, Galway and Cork county councils ?

Exactly, it's up there with Mary O'Rourke's "work like blacks", clearly no offence, but something to be avoided in these PC days. It worries me more that the Taoiseach took time out at this nonsensical event when there are so many real issues to worry about.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

Look, The quote stuff wouldn't be natural FG policy. This is a Labour Party gig. I doubt Enda believes in quotas but has to go with it for the sake of the coalition. Maybe his joke was a throw away remark or his joke was a little dig at the whole idea of quotas. I remember Enda calling Joe Higgins as a good Christian in the Dáil - knowing full well that Higgins is an athiest.
I care about all sorts of crap.

Nonsensical? An issue that effects 52% of the population and will bring major change to the running of political parties?
