Sure can't you just borrow the money from the banks to buy the shares in those same banks. I heard of some true patriots doing that.

I so agree, he really lets the Irish Times down - he has literally nothing to recommend him as a political analyst, he's just another barrister with FF connections...like what's the point?
I have opinions of my own - strong opinions - but I don't always agree with them. - George Bush

What else can one expect from FF only lies and innuendo? Nothing new there. However George Lee should take a look at page 4 and 5 of the 2007 FG manifesto (its the summary pages) and asked to comment. Old age pension increased to €300, cut basis income tax to 18%,2000 more Gardai wetc etc. This was wrtten by Kenny and Bruton. If he admits it was a disgraceful document then he will rise to near the top in my estimation but if he dissembles then I will know he is just a typical conservative political hack.

George Lee is an economist and he is qualified to see it as the economic data tells us. He was spot on on his analysis on downturn as i saw it coming few years ago with a huge reilance on the construction sector allied with big VAT rates along with GREED from builders, bankers, (govt-too re vat rates) to make a quick buck in a short time.

Noel Whelan - I never liked this man because he thinks he is SOMEBODY!!!! Also he is a Fianna Fecker who thinks for granted that the public are FOOLS. He spins a lot and defends the FF to the core.

What's the point of listening to him????

Wow never received so much thanks for starting a thread before....
Yes it's just a laugh...but not too far from what some commentators are saying, most notably Noel Whelan.
