At the height of a political corruption trial, the prosecuting Barrister attacked the witness.

"Is'nt it true" he bellowed " that you accepted five thousand euros to compromise this case?"

The witness stared out of the window, as though he had'nt heared the question.

The prosecutor blared "Is'nt it true that you took five thousand euros to compromise this case?"

Finally the judge laened over and said "Sir,Plaese answer the question"

"oh" the startled witness said "I thought he was talking to you"
