Perfidious Albions 2 new carriers: should we worry?

Very suspicious. No sonner than GB becomes PM and his looking to build some big boys toys - 2 new aircraft carriers no less. Has he his eyes on us in the event of the GFA amouting to FA? Or maybe he covets our natural resources such as......ah.....em......er, they just escape me at the moment. Anyway, maybe Trefor and the Welsh race has designs on us - they are well known for their snatch and grab raids here down the centuries. Thats it, I'm on to you Trefor, this is preparation for the invasion to get Welsh 'lebensraum' seeing as the English have taken over your gaff. Can there be any other plausible (or looney) explanation?

and they need aircraft carriers to attack Ireland?

that said, the chieftan tanks might find the red cow a challenge, and the M50 is too exposed ....

wait, they want our infrastructure and first class health system, our Broadband network, our docile, law abiding citizens and our pristine countryside...

Will the UK exchequer pay for their for tanks to use the Port Tunnel rather than go down the quays. Does UK environmentalism extend to the execution of an invasion?

They're clearly after our three most precious resources; national monuments, natural gas and hot air.

If things keep going the way they are there will be nothing but the last one left.

Very pitiful indeed. Britain still thinks its a World player.

I think Gordon Brown should worry more about the 12 Billion black hole in British pensions and paying up to all the people who had their houses ruined because his government has allowed bad planning to hold away and developments being built on flood plains.

When all these things are sorted then Britain could consider buying some new ships that will never be needed.

    tish and piffle!

flood defences and bailing out people who can't be arsed to buy house insurance (yes, i have just had to fork out for mine, how could you tell?) requires enormous investment - certainly more than £3.8 billion for a pair of carriers - yet there is no legacy in flood defences and those you bail out will only whinge about your assessment of the worth of their ancient piss-stained sofa, so don't bother.

splash the cash on a fleet that'll give 30 years of trouble free legacy in the shape of Dago bashing. spend £30 billion on flood defence and you'll get a 2" article on page 18 of the Guardian, spend £3.8 billion on a fleet and you'll have 25 years of loving headlines in the tabloids.

    cake sir, cake!
