    If the EU is the United States of Europe...

    I am just wondering if the European Union is in fact the United States of Europe then what country equates to what state.

    Is Greece Mississippi, Portugal Arkansas and are we Tennessee?
    On the flip side is Germany New Hampshire or New Jersey?

    I’m sure some very creative answers will be given & remember what forum this topic is in so any ‘anal’ posters can move right along.

    Don't mind being Tennessee at all. Beautiful state. New Jersey, on the other hand, not the nicest place in the world. What is that old saying...New Jersey is the armpit of america. Don't think Germany woud be too happy!

    Ireland is Louisiana.

    It's a good topic but the comparison is not easy because USA already has the fiscal risk-sharing that EU is trying to construct on the fly. Thus Germany would be the economic powerhouse states (California, NY/NJ, Texas etc) but these already give big transfers to the poor states and have some Greek syndromes of their own.

    But is Tennessee not a dry state? I always thought we would be more of a Hawaii! The small place in the ocean that doesnt really belong.
