SDLP leader thinks politicians aren't getting paid enough!!

BBC News - Lisburn SDLP mayor criticises party leader over MLAs' pay

I had to put this in this section as it so mad he must be having a laugh. 'Starvation wages' £49,000 a year tell that to the workers laid off in Cork. Allaister you need help, apologise, resign or admit it is a new Year joke.

Further proof that the SDLP are well advanced in the self destruct mode. They are good for a laugh though.

£43,000 isn't exactly a lot of money. Why are these people only worth around a quarter of what our idiot leader gets?

He's right. Compared to our fellas, he IS on 'starvation wages'.

Obama was thinking of swapping the White House for the Dail. He said the pay, pensions, holidays and the overall terms and conditions are much better in Ireland.

He thinks he has a definite chance in the 5 seater Laois-Offaly...his ancestral home.

Is that ment to be a joke...

I Work full time, longer hours, No pension, No sick-pay for half of that sum. What exactly do MLAs do that is so strenious that is worthy of a rise in this climate, given their workload is spread across, advisors, admin, Civil servants, etc...

If the minimum wage was to be increased, then maybe there would be scope for Allisters proposal.

This is a political own-goal from the leader of the Stoops...

Or Visteon in Belfast then or the many hundreds of thousands of other Irish citizens and indeed British citizens who are struggling, get your unionist head out of your backside.

Fair enough about Belfast companies - but Cork has nothing to do with the SDLP. The SDLP is a Northern party.

This is the second time McDonald has put his foot in it. He also plans to rotate the SDLP's Executive position so that more MLA's can get their time in the spotlight. He should perhaps spend more time trying to make the SDLP relevant. So far he comes across as a bit self-indulgent.
I care about all sorts of crap.
