    Lib Dem leaflet blooper

Continuing their reputation as being a totally inept and ineffectual party, here's one of the most hideous leaflet bloopers you're likely to see during your political life

"The IRA Army Council have a history of telling the truth. If they say they didn't do it, then I believe them" - Bertie Ahern, speaking after the murder of Det. Garda Jerry McCabe

    Ha ha

Reminds me of good old Denys Parsons and his "Funny Amusing, Funny Amazing" books with the famous "Action demanded on the drinking of methylated spirits at the Liverpool assizes" or "Magistrates to act on indecent shows".

Ahh... I remember Pat Fitz's leaflet in the 97 general election. His slogan was "Putting people before profit". Only he proofread his leaflet himself. Never proofread your own material!

THE GREEN PARTY - PUTTING BEFORE PROFIT

Of course he might have got a few transfers from the golfing crowd...

    On a related matter......

On Newsnight last night, Michael Crick produced a letter from a Labour candidate who appealled to all Labour supporters to come out in force "to see a strong Conservative victory"

I nearly fell of the chair laughing!

Considering you got this off Conservativehome.com, which isn't short of climate change denying Republican worshipping anti Gay headbangers, I think I'd rather hang around with Lib Dems, thanks very much. They're much nicer people, and the girls are very friendly.

In fairness, voting Green 1, Labour 2 and FG 3 is pretty much a Lib Dem vote.
