Whoever gets to be brian cowen is given a bundle of “visionary/leadership comments” cards and an iron lung of porter. The “brian cowen” player has to sit there and keep drinking, anytime he feels like a bundle of namopoly money he reads from one of his “visionary/leadership” cards and everyone has to pay him whatever amount he asks for. The “brian cowen” player can only lose if he falls asleep before he (a) drinks all of the porter, or (b) if he doesn’t collect all of the other players’ money before they fall asleep listening to him reading from his cards, or (c) if he says “i’m sorry, it was all my fault”. The “brian cowen” player has to look like he’s grumpy, asleep and p*ssed out of his skull but he can only be disqualified if he falls asleep and actually stays asleep for more than an hour.
“the regulator” doesn’t have to do anything, he just sits there and pretends to watch “the banker”. “brian cowen” shares some of his porter with “the regulator” every so often. If the game is getting contentious to the extent that the “the taxpayer” is thinking of quitting “brian cowen” will ask “the regulator” to please leave instead, while handing him several bundles of namopoly money taken directly from “the taxpayer”.
“the property developer” can do anything he likes as long as he keeps handing “brian cowen” 10% of all the namopoly money he receives from “the banker” and “the taxpayer”. That’s one essential rule for “the property developer”, the other rule is that there are no rules. If “brian cowen” feels that “the property developer” is not making enough namopoly money because of these two highly restrictive rules he can keep changing the rules until “the property developer” takes all of “the banker’s” and “the taxpayer’s” money. “the property developer” is not permitted to buy namopoly sites for their face value, he has to multiply the face value by 2, and then by 10.
Other than “brian cowen”, “the banker” is the best card to have. He gives all of his namopoly money to “the developer” while refusing to give any to “the taxpayer”. Then, when he has no namopoly notes left, he tells “brian cowen” he needs more money. He writes on a piece of paper how much he needs. “brian cowen” picks it up, divides the sum by 100 and tells “the taxpayer” it’s all his fault and takes the reduced sum from “the taxpayer”. “brian cowen” keeps taking another one hundredth from “the taxpayer” each time “the banker” and “the property developer” are short and need more money.
The aim of the game is that all of the players, except “the taxpayer”, get to grab all of “the taxpayer’s” money. They are permitted to laugh behind his back - and to his face. If "the taxpayer" complains about how much money the other players have, and how he has none, "brian cowen" has to read out loud from one of his inspirational “visionary/leadership comments” cards and pretend to (a) understand what he's saying and (b) believe it.
Rules for “the taxpayer”? On the back of the “the taxpayer's” card is his clue to the rules he must follow“if god didn't want them sheared, he would not have made them sheep”.
