How much influence has Russia's interests in Irish politics?

Time was that Soviet influence in Irish politics was confined to the CPI, Workers Party, Trade Unions and Official IRA. In this case it was clearly about extending influence within the Irish body politic.
Now with the demise of the USSR, is it the case that Russian business interests are now extending within Irish politics on all sides?
Conor Lenihan spent time in St Petersburg, Mick Wallace spent time with Julian Assange who is widely regarded as Putin's creature while Irish business people are slowly climbing the slippery slope to enjoy the vista previously believed to be the domain of Russian oligarchs

In a post-Brexit era, Putin now realised he has underestimated Ireland’s influence and power. With the recognition of unions by Ryanair, another chip in the capitalist enslaving wall has been chipped away. The time is now. We need the great leader, father of the nation, bear wrestler, judo master, bare rider of horses, the diving discoverer of antiquities. Why do you think Gerry is now getting off the stage?

So you think it is nutty to suggest a link between money and political decisions? What part of Kansas are you familiar with? Do you eve wonder how one politician seems to get his information on Cerebrus out of NAMA? In the old days it used to come through investigative journalists. Now it gets announced by TDs.
