They lost the vote on the blasphemy amendment. So one of the government senators called for a walk-through vote (essentially a re-vote), someone was hurriedly dispatched to the Dáil Bar to retrieve an errant FFer, the vote was retaken and this time it was evens and the Chair used his casting vote to spare the government's blushes.
I think they actually won by 1 vote the Cathaoirleach Senator Pat Moylan an Offaly FF gobsh1te with all the intelligence of a 16 yr old on acid had the casting vote.
