Does the Cope automatically have to surrender his Dail seat once elected to the EP? Or can he double job until the next General Election?

AFAIK there would have to be a by-election. Otherwise, FF would not have had such problems finding a candidate to replace Sean O Neachtain.

RTÉ's campagin daily just said that the government majority is only 2, surely that cannot be correct?

That is wrong. Even it was 3 before Pat the cope gets elected, this is cancelled out by Uncle Joe winning in Dublin. Even so the true figure is at least 5 or 6 considering indos and Lowry.

Uncle Joe lost his seat at the last Dail election so he doesn't feature.
