Oh yeah, excellent point.
That reminds me, I'm off to have a BLT!
If one Independent does it, I suspect others may follow. When speculating with my friend, we didn't even consider Harney as a possibility.
Before I go, does anyone know what the numbers are, assuming that non government supporting parties win the two by-elections?
Margin of three and it won't be Harney.

Tough call. Initially I though Finian but then when someone mentions it could be just a tactic to leverage more goodies that brough Jackie back in the mix.
Lets pretend its Finian. I guess he would like to see his proxy councillors shoring up the base in these elections as well.
Independent TDs with "party machines" must be considering the importance of retaining those machines in council or with a strong base. Otherwise they are damaging their retention of a seat in a future GE so there is a reason for some guys to walk. For others that does not apply.
But lets see the meat on the bones first.
So assuming that FG/Lab win the two by elections (as looks very likely), and this defection is real, that leaves them with just one person majority. One more and get your ladders and cable ties out folks!
Has anybody got any friends in Leinter House or a Newsroom? If so, give them a shout. Now, where's my sandwich.
It's lunchtime! Nobody will be in Leinster House or Newsrooms! Now, I'm going for my lunch and will start calling mobiles.
