Seeing as we are lumbered with it, it is high time that much better use of it was made and that it sits more often with more scrutiny and input into legislation.

Had a quick look at the carry on, Norris was in the chair pontificating. We had our chance to be rid of it and blew it.

We had our opportunity to get rid of the Seanad but were convinced otherwise by the insider elite in academia and media who wanted to keep the Seanad as a bolthole for themselves and their cronies.

'REFORM' of the Seanad is just a load of hogwash.

Reforming the Seanad by having it more directly elected and giving it more power, as seems to be advocated by a group of politicians, is just creating another Dail. We already have one of those.

Giving power to passport-holding emigrants and Northern Ireland citizens to elect this 'reformed' Seanad would give power to those who do not pay taxes in this country.

I had to turn Norris off rapidly. He is such a pompous ass. We are so lucky we did not elect him as President. I saw that other yoke Daly there as well and plenty of our lot that got the heave. I hope Enda will not waste any time reforming it and just let it stew away there.
