Kenny signs off on 17,000 Euro pay for two 'Super Juniors'

Jan O'Sullivan and Paul Kehoe, two so-called 'Super Junior' ministers, are to get an extra 17,000 Euro on top of their already generous 130,000 Euro salaries after Enda Kenny signed off on the increase at the end of January.

O'Sullivan is a member of the party voted in to keep an eye on any FG excesses when it came to looking after their own. So far, just one year down the road, both Labour and Fine Gael have shown that they're on their way to being every bit as contemptuous of public opinion as their predecessors. Jobs given to loyal party hacks, failure to tackle waste of public resources, u-turns on payments to bond holders, pay hikes for advisors and now cream on the trifle for Jan and Paul.

It's business as usual in Irish politics and the one-finger salute to the electorate still the preferred choice of communimcation methods.

When we elected the longest serving member of the Dail to be Taoiseach, we couldn't really have expected him to reform the lazy corruption that is endemic in the place.

Would some kind Mod insert the word 'hike' after pay.

I wouldn't want to cause any coronaries in Labour with the headline as it reads.

No I think they should get it.

Theres no support for them to be paid the average wage, so people are clearly fine with them being paid high.
Most seem to think their policies are correct so why not reward them for doing a good job?

If you don't think they should be tied to the average wage, and think they are doing a good job (as most do) why would you oppose them being paid well.

The peasants in this country cheer every time a new cut is made, the harder you beat them the more they scream for more, so if I were a minsiter I'd fleece the stupid c@*nts for everything I could get away with as well, by the time they break out of their stockholm syndrome I'd be off with my huge pension retired and happy, not even running for election again. I wish I could get in on this scam, I have to settle for small wages and no benefits.
