Turned out to be no good in the end actually. Its was overcast and no sunlight got through so Michael D's bit of cronyism came to no good. Of course he might get the daughter another 2 tickets for next year.......

After all the hype of The presidental election he is drifting into the "whos that guy" area. he attented the main events and most importanty been seen at them and give a few speeches here and there on "how hard it is out there and we'll pull thru it and Ra ra ra stiff upper lip" but he will be a fart in a Hurricane in irish Life. He got the top job and the prestige that comes with it and that is what is important to him. of course that doesn't mean he wont fight to have a nice clean image during his term and look like he cares. he is a politician thru and thru and image is most important thing. he was the safest option out of all the other gombeens we had choice to vote for.

Politics is rotten in Ireland and infects the top to the bottom of the power pyramid. Even if your get in, doesn't mean you will change anything cause of all the vested interests. Can't go rocking the boat you know

Also among the 24 were Leo Varadkar and Ruiari Quinn plus 6 people drawn at random from 35000 who applied. The chamber in Newgrange can only hold 24. President Higgins requested 2 tickets from the OPW.
There are FFers who as President would have given Newgrange to his daughter, let alone a free ticket to it. Be thankful for what you get.

It's what the Sunday Times is about. They're the ones who reported it.

Be thankful that a 'socialist' engages in what you regard as only a minor act of cronyism? No thanks. How long before Michael D will be endorsing the gulag for people that do not agree with him?

Why did Minister Phil Hogan drop the independent review into planning irregularities within Dublin and Cork city councils and Carlow, Meath, Galway and Cork county councils ?

If he wanted tickets for himself and his spouse, then by all means he should get them.
Using his Office to get tickets for his daughter & guest is an abuse of his privileged position as Head of State.
I voted for him and i support his former political party but i'm disgusted at this carry-on.

Let poor Micky D have his moment, after all he probably remembers the place being built and just wants his youngster an a few of his pals to share the magic! There was probably a similar controversy 5,000 years ago when some chieften got his buddies in for a look at the light.
