Pat Rabbitte cravenly gave away billions of our national oil and fuel for free to foreigners. You can add him to the long list of Irish politicians who left our country in a worse state than he found it.

    Bruton.

Where are the plans, even, to tackle our biggest problem, unemployment?

No. 1 priority on the FG Manifesto.

Moan Burton, two climbdowns on the budget within a week. Penrose made no impression and Reilly is an unmitigated disaster.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

I expected a lot from Dr. Reilly.

Perhaps I was naive in expecting sudden improvements. Perhaps, he needs to develop choerent plans. However, I live in an area with no hospital fit for human beings.

He gets my vote for least effective minister.

I think Bruton has been pretty active - the jobs budget, reform of JLC's and the job creation elements of Noonan's budget. I think he would have gone much further were it not for the resident socialists in government. The government will also be commencing an annual jobs action plan in January which will set targets on improving the conditions for job creation.

There's only so much a government can do. Governments don't create jobs - Bertie thought it could and look where that got us.
I care about all sorts of crap.

I'd say possibly Gilmore as he clearly picked an easy job for himself. TBH not even sure what the role of Foreign Affairs involves anymore. I think it will be difficult to judge Health, Reform, Social Welfare etc... until the next election as they are such large portfolios & no quick fix.

I know everyone loves to criticise & he has other failings but effective management of the cabinet is what we expect from Enda Kenny so this is to be welcomed.

With Northern Ireland stable, there is no substantial work for the Minsiter of Foreign Affairs.

Gilmore should be judged on his role of Tanaiste. From what I can see, he has done quite well.

    The weakest link...
I think Shatter's been one of the best. Yes he's abrasive and rubs people up the wrong way, but at the same time he is pushing ahead with a lot of much needed legalisation, reform of the legal profession, new bill on white collar crime and a new bill on bankruptcy and I'd put all that above the fact that he may not be the nicest guy in the world.

The minute he brought forward proposals to reform the legal profession, he was going to alienate the Law Society and Bar Council, as like all Unions/Lobby groups they have no interest in reform. Thankfully Shatter has the balls to really take them on though.

It's a nightmare of a portfolio and it will take a lot of years to fix it. The fact that he has to cut the health budget while trying to sort it out doesn't make it any easier. I'd give Reilly a few years before judging him at all really and there does seem to be some movement on reform now as well.
