Taoiseach's Christmas Message to the Nation

This is the speech and An Taoiseach uploaded on merrionstreet.ie.

In his two minute speech to the Nation he highlights the importance of families, friends and good neighbours. He acknowledges "that this may be a tough x-mas for many....with many young people having migrated....too many x-mas greetings that are exchanged over the phone or with skype....too much anxiety....sadness....and in some cases too much loss”.

He wants to assure us all that they are doing everything to turn around our countries fortunes....they are determined to get our economic sovereignty back....determined to get Ireland back on its feet....and determined to get our young people back home where they belong.

Can I suggest pressing the red star under the video and competing the effect by having a sobbing woman in the corner.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

Emigration is going to be a defining issue, and the Taoiseach knows it.

We run the risk of losing an entire generation.

Will it be a tuff Christmas for Kevin Cardiff ????

....or is he included in the category of people who have been forced abroad to make a living ????

Dublin, Europe's most supportive tourist destination for Peados, thanks to no electronic passport swipe in Dublin Airport. Ireland always facilitates child molestors.

How do you know? Perhaps he has children who can't get jobs and will have to emigrate.

What qualifies you to be so judgemental?

He was obviously impressed by Elizabeth11.

Must be a time of crisis for him, though.

Is he Fuehrer or Queen Enda Kenny?

Leader of Vichy Gael or Monarch of the Deutsch Probince of Irlande?

    No matter, make a speech.

Why doesnt INDA spend more time thinking of ways to get Ireland out of this mess, instead of spending valuable time making speeches which no one believes or wants to hear.... Good Queen Bess made a huge impression on him..... maybe he has an Anus horribilus story also....

He seriously needs help with his speech writing - its sharper than his 'address to the nation' but still muddled and lacking in vision.

    The Govt is actually getting through the reform agenda but he's not communicating that or punching home any vision except;

    - 'regain economic sovereignty' - why? so we can f€ck it up again?
    - 'bring the kids back home' - why? So we can f€ck it up again?

Needs to communicate ACTION - that we are in the process of rebuilding the country after a disastrous 15 war against reality which we lost, tick off the achievements to date and set out what the new Ireland will be like - free, fair, democratic, efficient, smart, prosperous. ie when the kids do come home it will be to a better country that they'll want to stay in, regain our economic soverignty so we can achieve our potential, not stew in petty corruption and ineptitude for the next 100 years.

Talking about our values of creativity etc is coming across as just 'have to say something' - exports are up, we're working on reducing the debt burden and rationalising govt so its more efficient etc etc.... ACTION, ACTION, ACTION - What we've done, what we're doing what we gonna do, how things are paying off. Healthcare reform, legal reform, local govt reform - Otherwise it has this depressing tone of inertia.

What happened to the guy who wrote the Cloyne speech I wonder? Its hard to credit its the same guy/gal writing this murky, muddled stuff.

And the background is horrendous - do they not have a nice corner of a room somewhere? Michael D had a nice fireplace in his.

Come on lads, crappy videos are dispiriting for the nation - it looks like we are out of ideas, in which case we truly are f2cked.
