Newstalk reporting Jan O'Sullivan to be appointed as Super-Junior Minister

Newstalk are reporting that Labour's Jan O'Sullivan is to be appointed as a Super-Junior Minister today with a non-voting place at cabinet. They're also saying that fellow party-TD Joe Costello will also become a Junior Minister too.

The appointments follow the vacancy that arises from Willie Penrose' resignation.

how can a group of Labour ministers in their 60's reflect the needs of people in their 30's

The Labour benches are bursting with talent - led by Kelly & Sherlock (as juniors) but also including O'Riordain, Nolan, McCarthy, Lyons, Hannigan and others

The scary thing is that Gilmore put a month of thought into this !

That talent you speak of are no different than those they follow and all, without exception, would be at home in fg!

It is odd that Ireland's self-declared progressive party seems so reluctant to promote anyone who can't answer the question - "Where were you when JFK was shot"?

The Labour side of the Cabinet now looks like an Eoin McLove Fan Club meeting.

Any young talent on the Labour benches would be wasted, why be a minister when you're just there to turn the IMF faxes into law.
